The Mansfield Center for the Performing Arts is in the Great Falls Civic Center. The Civic Center building is designated a national historic landmark, houses the seat of city government and is home to Mansfield Center for the Performing Arts.
The Civic Center was built to be the heart of downtown Great Falls in 1939-1940 as part of the Work Projects Administration. Its Art Deco style, specifically a monumental or Municipal Deco, is indicative to WPA projects. Today, the facility remains as a significant part of our community's pride and a valued regional asset and is the home of the Mansfield Center for the Performing Arts - a gathering place for events, performing arts and recreation activities.
The beautifully designed and architecturally significant Mansfield Theater offers a seating capacity of 1788. The Mansfield Theater was built as a regional film house and a performance hall for live productions. It boasts many amenities that attract today's national touring productions as well as local promoters.
The Mansfield Convention Center is also an asset to our community's quality of life as well and an attractive venue for the region's tourism industry. Originally an ice rink up the room was renovated in the early into 15,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Today, the Mansfield Convention Center room is home to annual fundraising and recreational events, meetings and tradeshows of which an average of 95% to 98% of the usage is by non-profit local, state and federal individuals, organizations and businesses.
